There is a lot of DLC/expansion, what should I buy ? I played 5h to the F2P experience and I liked,...now I want to play the "full experience"...so which package should I buy ?

Destiny 2 Legendary Edition is the best option ? (shadowkeep, forsaken, across low-cal) or should I wait until Witch Queen ?

Any communication is welcomed (destiny 2 is so confusing for new players...)

Thank yous a lot :)

Honestly, Beyond Calorie-free is probably enough, though if your platform has a auction on the DLC right at present Legendary isn't a bad gear up. Shadowkeep is okaaaaaaaay every bit an expansion, but BL has a lot more worthwhile content to it and the season is going to alter when Witch Queen arrives in iii weeks.

The Forsaken campaign is gratis correct now, and it's beingness removed on February 22nd. Play that first, if you lot like it, buy either Beyond Light or Witch Queen (out on the 22nd). Shadowkeep is an easy pass unless you get super into the game and desire the exotics that come up from it.

Crawly!

to go started and dip your toes in I recommend just buying beyond light for now. Forsaken is going away and is free right now. Shadow keep isn't really needed anymore.
Beyond calorie-free will get you in with the electric current season.

If you can wait 23 days the newest Expansion comes out, and getting that will probably be your best bet. In the concurrently you tin dip your toes into the free to play bits and see if you lot enjoy it enough to pickup the new expansion.

Become play the currently free campaign before they vault it, which is the forsaken story missions.

The version of forsaken in the parcel is similar, dungeon raid and rare weapon access I recall- all those things are staying later on the story missions get vaulted.

Shadowkeep is shorter and by and large felt like the prologue to the current story arc. Beyond light is improve merely the bundle is prob worth it if you similar the taste of the game the free story missions give you.

Y'all could as well simply wait til Feb 22 and showtime playing with witch queen. The premise is pretty piece of cake to launch into: a master enemy alien successfully copied our powers and we're going in to the boss'southward domain to run into how.

At this point I'd just look for Witch Queen. It'll hopefully have a decent entrada to get new players introduced well and you won't take whatsoever of the stuff going abroad in 22 days or whatever it is.

The Forsaken campaign definitely isn't free. At least, it's not on PS5.

Edit: oh. yous're talking about the campaign. The expansion however isn't free.

You lot need Beyond Light for Stasis, and you lot need Witch Queen if you desire to play the content coming in a few weeks. Yous'll also need to purchase the new season pass next month. That's everything I would consider "mandatory" to really get into the game. That's ~$fourscore to become started.

Shadowkeep and Forsaken have stuff that makes them worth ownership, but you don't need them immediately. They regularly continue sale for ~$12.49. The 30th Anniversary Pack I'd also consider optional right now unless yous really desire Gjallarhorn.

If you only want access to everything without having to call up nigh this convoluted mess, y'all need to buy the Legacy Collection ($60 for three previous expansions) and the Witch Queen Deluxe + 30th Anniversary Edition ($100 for WQ, 30th pack, and upcoming season passes).

I call back they're going to be having a package with the forsaken pack, Shadowkeep, Beyond Low-cal, and Witch Queen at launch. They did that with Beyond Light'south launch. For now you should be adept with just the free to play version until Witch Queen launches.

Beyond Light then current flavor and then pray someone helps you out with the beginning grind because it's disruptive, annoying and a little tedious.

Destiny 2 construction is such mess... I've fell out of it some years before F2P, and tried to become back to it. Got lost if I should purchase this or that and simply gave up...

Maybe I'll try some of the recomendations posted here.

You need Across Low-cal for Stasis,
Do you need stasis, though? AFAIK you don't. Beyond Lite isn't a requirement for Witch Queen.

You don't need Beyond Light for Witch Queen, simply I have a difficult time recommending people skip it. Especially if you don't accept Forsaken or Shadowkeep, since you'd be missing out on Stasis as well equally the eye trees for every other subclass (unless those cease up getting rolled into WQ).

If money is an consequence, I'd suggest waiting until Witch Queen release earlier ownership Beyond Calorie-free... its current season(and by seasons) content will be gone in 3 weeks and the expansion will probably become on sale a couple of times once WQ release.

So, I would say maybe buy WQ when information technology release if you enjoy the gratis version and expect until BL goes on sale later if you want to try Stasis, its exclusive exotics or the campaign(which will take picayune to practise with WQ'south story from what I saw, merely maybe in that location is some surprises, who knows..., the story will be hard to follow for a new player no matter what anyway).

Frankly, if OP is 5h into it and enjoying it plenty to want to do more, the "noob doesn't/cannot know what to do" thing flies away, imo. the initial Cosmodrome stuff was really carried adequately well when I remade a character and did the quest. You do a lot of "bones" Destiny things earlier even going into the Belfry, now.

Forsaken gave players a new super for each 3 subclasses(arc, void solar), along with a bunch of new skills, the centre tree, as mentioned. The height and bottom tree are bachelor for everyone. Just with Forsaken beingness gratis right now and partially removed in 3 weeks, I'yard not certain if everyone has access to the Forsaken sectional skills/supers it right now.

It'll go worse when they vault Forsaken.

Quests and the best storyline Destiny actually had IMO. I think the weapons will be bachelor in other means.

To analyze, the campaign, which is beingness removed, is at present free. What they're charging for is access to the raid and dungeon from Forsaken, which are non being removed, and access to all the exotic weapons and armor that came out that year.

Forsaken is free currently(at least, the entrada). The simply thing being charged right now(when I expect at Steam) is what volition stay after WQ will launch : the weapons and the Dreaming City's raid and dungeon.

It's confusing I know and I hope they simplify everything eventually, especially with the news from today which might attract some people in trying Destiny 2.

The get-go thing you should do is play the Forsaken entrada, information technology's complimentary until Feb 22. I'd recommend watching videos of the type "Destiny story so far" until Forsaken.

The 2d matter yous should exercise is to play a raid, I'd recommend yous to play the Vault of Drinking glass. Give it a couple of tries.

If you liked Forsaken and the Vault of Glass experiences, then I'd say purchase the Legendary Edition if it's on sale. If you lot can't do that and have to prioritize i expansion, I'd recommend Beyond Light because it gives you the water ice powers y'all probably saw running around.

And so, if information technology'southward past Feb 22 and you liked the experience so far, I'd recommend The Witch Queen. It should requite you one free season (please don't purchase seasons until February 22) and and then you can try the seasonal content and see if y'all similar it.

If it'due south by Feb 22 and you DIDN'T like the campaigns or the raids, then don't purchase The Witch Queen. I'd recommend yous to purchase one season and endeavour the seasonal content.

By then y'all should have spent the least amount possible of coin while trying to encounter if y'all actually like the game. You can either like but the expansions and be buying/playing but those, or doing raids, or you may like only the seasonal content and beingness a actor that merely buy seasons.

There'due south many means of enjoying Destiny, my advice is: Don't seize with teeth more than you can chew! Otherwise you volition get caught up in FOMO and you might purchase content you don't even play.

Going to exist frank here OP, information technology'south manner also belatedly to get into Destiny. You volition be overwhelmed and won't have a skillful feel, don't carp.

Whatever you do, do not mind to this terrible advice.

Yes, Destiny can be a bit overwhelming to get into at its electric current indicate. That's a problem they need to find a solution for. Notwithstanding, the idea that information technology's "too late" and that no new players will have a good feel is consummate nonsense.

If you're enjoying the gameplay, you'll option up on everything equally time goes on. Requite it a try (play the Forsaken campaign and if you liked information technology, grab Beyond Light). If you need help, striking up the Destiny two OT hither on Era, where plenty of people will answer whatsoever questions you might have.

Read a few sites ranking the various campaigns and content released for the Destiny franchise.

Destiny 2'due south Forsaken campaign is considered the very best. It lasts half-dozen-eight hours and is free to play until it probable disappears forever on February 22nd. I will make sure to go through it!

Second most loved campaign was The Taken King expansion for Destiny 1.

There were ten other campaigns/content ranked behind these two.

If you tin can't wait then become Beyond light and Witch Queen at the end of Feb. If y'all can await, I'd simply get that. If in that location is an exotic or something y'all really want from the old expansions, you can get them later. Plus they may discount the other expansions when Witch Queen is released(No idea merely it's a possibility)

I like Destiny a lot but it bluntly has some of the worst on-boarding of whatsoever game out in that location. Just an out right awful first time playing experience with no way to know what y'all "should" do or what to appoint with (or, hell, how to even start some of the better content in the game). This isn't helped by the fact that even more of the game is existence removed (I'grand non going to use their "friendly" diction for it, for all intents and purposes it'due south existence vaporized and jettisoned from the game).

In that location actually isn't an option to simply "buy everything" at once, y'all can only buy things individually but like people accept mentioned game pass is a good fashion to just go parts of information technology going for free.

I would suggest, since it's free and bachelor, to run through the Forsaken campaign. Pretty sure it starts as a node on the Tangled Shore however? It's going abroad and probably what yous want to do most urgently. Near everything else is staying that would probably exist immediately interesting to you. There's also all the story content over the past year that would be worth seeing such as the Harbinger mission, Presage mission, and the Season of the Splicer missions.

They all accept a fleck of time to get through but worth seeing before they become away. Particularly the Presage mission which is wonderful all around.

Merely again, that year of story content would crave dropping 30$ or and then for stuff that's 3 weeks from vaporizing.

edit: To actually requite you a proper reply on what to buy though? I'chiliad not sure. Honestly, my suggestion would exist to see what gratis content you can depending on how much free fourth dimension you got. If you lot run into that all pretty quickly, consider whether yous want to buy everything currently available or not (would be Shadowkeep, Beyond Low-cal, and the Y4/Beyond Calorie-free flavor pass). Shadowkeep is mediocre with a decent raid and dungeon. Beyond is overall pretty good. The flavour pass content is really actually good but about to expire.

Then become Witch Queen when it comes out if you're still interested.

1. Forsaken
ii. Across Light
3. Shadowkeep
The Witch Queen is on track to dethrone Forsaken difficult

I'm non sure that's $30. The only fashion of accessing past seasons in a year is to buy the deluxe edition of the current expansion. It sucks actually hard.

Bungie needs to focus on keeping the flavor passes available to purchase and completion year long asap.

Yeah, and I don't think this is the best deal because Flavor of the Lost is catastrophe very soon, in that location's not fifty-fifty time to go all the triumphs I remember.

I don't become why they do that though, particularly when seasons are bought in game. This needs fixing.
